Question about head voice

When one is finally getting the feel of head voice-though still in the unsteady, lack of control-“awkward” stage of it–is it beneficial to attempt to add “grit” to find the “feel” for it to employ if desired & get a handle on it right away at an early stage–or should he wait & just be totally clean and find grit later?

Thank you~!

Ken Tamplin:

Absolutely not. You must grow this area lightly and the sound velocity should be consistent. Meaning´╗┐ that only sing as loud as you can connect. Then, little by little add weight (volume) to that sound. This is the correct way to strengthen this section.
